So after sitting on hold for 45 minutes...
..I talk to a woman at iPower who listens while I tell her the story of the Moist Board's troubles, and then she says, "I'll write up a technical support ticket for you and have technical support take a look at it."
Yet she supposedly works for technical support, so I'm not sure why I wasted the 45 minutes in the first place.
I really, really loathe iPower.
The bottom line is that I have a 47 meg DMP file written for MySQL 5.0, and I'm trying to restore it to a new MySQL 4.0 database as the Moist Board languishes in limbo.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? Cyanide brownie recipes?

I would just install a new board on the new server then move the database to the new board via the cpanel.
That's what I did each time I've moved dry. It can be a bit time consuming, but less time that trying to make the old board fit.
Basically all the membership, topics and posts would be there; you could even move over the personal messages.
Later on you could redirect the www.stallioncornell.com/board url to the new server.
I made this in the other post, but install a new bboard and then overlay the database into it.
If the database is too large you'll have to do it in pieces, but it can be done. Basically install a backup onto the new board. Just don't install the config file because they it will keep trying to load the old board/url.

I don't have a cPanel on the new server. It's privately hosted.

just upgrade the new mySQL to 5.0. Why is it still 4? 5 has been out for over a year and a half.
I think you need some kind of cpanel to set this up.
Is it possible that you can setup a blank bulletin board? It looks like all you need to do is just find a mechanism to load the file in, and with the old admin panel all you needed to do was make use of the "restore database" option.

John is correct...basically that's what I was suggesting. Set up a new (blank) board and do a restore database function. If the database is too large you have to install the posts and topics via the phpmyadmin panel.
Your brother in law needs to install phpmyadmin to his server to get into the database.
