That was Meryl Streep in 1990, presumably speaking about the box-office calamity that was Lions for Lambs.

but . . . actors are so much . . . smarter . . . than the rest of us . . . simpletons. Aren't they? Isn't that how they became actors - and why they deserve fame and fortune?
