Update

I've deleted the aforementioned post, comments and all, with reference to Richard Dutcher. I wanted to leave it up, because I thought it was pretty cool to have Dutcher comment on my blog, and I'm deeply, deeply shallow. But after some thought, I realized it's pretty uncharitable for me to bash a guy I don't know - unless it's a presidential candidate. So if Dutcher runs for president, he's fair game. Except I'd probably vote for him over McCain or Huckabee.

Carry on.

Thanks. You rock.

Sorry to hear of your bowel issues.

May you be tickled by God for a thousand years,
Richard Dutcher

Holy smokes! Turn your back on this little blog for one day and all hell breaks loose.

And to think I missed all the good stuff...

So... interesting turn of events. And what a graceful gesture, Stallion. Maybe you aren't as classless as we thought. :)

However... I do still have a beef with Mr. Dutcher... so if you're still reading Mr D, here it is.

I don't live in Utah, so I haven't seen this firsthand, but apparently there are billboards in Salt Lake advertising "Falling" as "The first R rated mormon movie."

That's it. Now, I'm guessing you're not personally responsible for this advertising snafu, but still... come on.

I don't object to R rated movies (in fact most of my favorites are so rated), but I do object and R rating being advertised as the sole reason to see a film. At best, you are alienating a good chunk of your audience (the idiots who trust the MPAA), at worst you are also insulting the intelligence and discretion of people like me who are amenable to R rated movies.

It's just pretty much the worst idea ever. That is all.

Whiteeyebrows... there are many of us who don't necessarily trust the MPAA who still make the decision not to watch R rated movies. Although we may indeed be idiots, the decision not to watch R rated movies probably has very little to do with our idiocy.

For me, my idiocy is derived from my belief that Diet Pepsi is the Nectar of the Gods, not my unwillingness to see Rambo: Part XII.

Stallion,

Thanks from me also for deleting everything. Richard, if you read this, know that I took your comments to heart and took a day to reflect on them. I realize now I was overly harsh and went way overboard in my comments and in my tone. I apologize for any pain I caused you and your family. That was never my intention, and I hope that you find the peace and happiness that you and your family deserve.
